About The Club
The Colonial Cavaliers was formed in 2004 by James Fry and Donovan Hudson after years of lamenting the lack of cricket in their lives in the US. Our inaugural season in 2004 consisted of 3 matches played against Eagle Cricket Club, St. Columbas Cricket Club and Boston Gymkhana. The club consists of mainly Englishmen and South Africans but our club also currently counts among its ranks, players from Wales, Australia, New Zealand, India, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Ireland, USA and Norway!
In the winter of 2004 we decided to merge with the Boston Brits cricket team led by West Countryman Gary Paul. We realized our combined forces would pave the way for a healthier club and make it easier to field a side each week. We now boast 30 active members and growing. Our club name is a tribute to both the cosmopolitan and nomadic nature of our team and the fact we uphold the finest traditions and spirit of the game.
Now a registered non-profit corporation, we are committed to spreading the noble sport of cricket in New England, introducing all ages to this magnificent sport and also fund raising for our favorite New England charities. Cricketers with a mission.
New club members are warmly welcomed. Our home matches are currently played at Harvard University and away matches are played at various grounds across New England.
